Healthcare-associated infections (previously known as nosocomial infections) are those infections unrelated to the condition for which the patient was hospitalized. This educational module is meant to give you the feel of the TJC's new survey process under the new TJC accreditation process. By reviewing the information contained in this module, you will learn about the TJC's requirement for performing the organizational Periodic Performance Review (previously called "organizational self-assessment"), what it entails in completing the assessment and what must be done in terms of corrective action planning for any standards identified as non-compliant during the performance review.
